Hundreds of travelers spent their Sunday night in the cold along Mombasa highway following an accident involving a trailer. This is after a trailer, involved in an accident blocked the busy highway at the Makindu-Kiboko area, police said. Efforts by officials to clear the scene did not bear any fruits. Impatient road users overlapped causing more chaos at the scene, police said. Two Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) pilots were last Thursday admitted in hospital after their chopper crashed in Kisamis area, Kajiado West. This is after a Kenya Air Force, Fennec helicopter hit a power cable as it flew to Nairobi. Officials said the incident happened on November 9 evening and was kept under the radar. Herders who rushed to the scene and took images of the wreckage were rounded up and ordered to delete them. The family of a woman who was murdered in Kisii said the assailant behind the incident was angered he could not marry their kin because they were related. Stephen Orengo was arrested over the murder of Lucy Boke, 22 and it has since emerged they were related, police added. Five American service members died in a helicopter crash in the eastern Mediterranean, the US military said Sunday.  It says the aircraft suffered a mishap while refuelling as part of a routine training exercise. The Directorate of Veterinary Services has raised an alarm over the sale of uninspected chicken meat within Nairobi and major towns. In a statement dated November 6, Obadiah Njagi warned that chicken meat being sold has not been properly inspected by health inspectors. Njagi revealed that chickens are being slaughtered at private residences instead of authorized slaughterhouses as is required by law. Police recorded a development in the Sh94 million Wells Fargo heist when they arrested four suspects and recovered about Sh9.1 million in Nairobi’s Kasarani area. The suspects were arrested in Rongai, Kayole and Thika Road in an operation on Saturday November 11. A getaway car that was used by the suspects to escape with the loot on November 6 was recovered in Rongai. Kenya Power on Saturday night said its engineers working to restore supply but did not reveal what caused the outage.
