Nyamira County Assembly Majority Leader Elijah Osiemo is dead. Osiemo died on Monday afternoon following a road accident. The deceased who doubled as the MCA for Nyamaiya Ward, was traveling to Nairobi with two of his colleagues when they were involved in a road accident along the Maai Mahiu-Naivasha road. Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo said the two other MCAs, Duke Masira and Priscilla Nyatichi, sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Naivasha Level Four Hospital. Rapper Tory Lanez is set to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom Monday August 7, where he will be sentenced for shooting and injuring hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion in July of 2020. A four-year-old girl died after she fell off the third floor of a house in Kayole, Nairobi. Police said the minor was playing with her friends on the rooftop of the structure on Saturday afternoon when she fell off. She was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy as the family mourned the death. Gunmen ambushed a motorcycle rider and killed his pillion passenger before robbing them of unknown amount of money in Kainuk, Turkana County. Police said the incident happened on August 4 along the Kainuk-Kakong highway between KWS and Kainuk. The rider Geoffrey Wanjala, 33, was coming from Kltale heading to Lodwar while carrying his sister Doreen Nekesa, 28. A team of police officers raided a warehouse run by the Worldcoin cryptocurrency in Nairobi and carted away documents. A prominent New York City cancer doctor killed herself and her baby at their Westchester home Saturday morning in what police believe was a murder-suicide, reports said. Niger’s coup leaders closed the country’s airspace until further notice, citing the threat of military intervention from their neighbours. Three people were on Saturday evening killed following a grisly road accident at Murup area along Kambinye-Kargi road, Marsabit County. At least 30 people were Sunday killed and 100 injured when a train derailed in southern Pakistan. Several carriages of the Hazara Express overturned near Sahara railway station in Nawabshah, about 275km (171 miles) from the largest city Karachi. Wounded passengers were moved to nearby hospitals.
