For years, hosting a dinner party often meant mixing cocktails and setting out a bar cart. Alcohol was part of the ritual, but that’s changing. More people are now stepping away from booze and instead, they’re choosing to focus on health, presence, and a different kind of connection. As a result, the way we gather around the table is evolving, and the alcohol-free dinner party is becoming its kind of experience. The result is a more relaxed, inclusive vibe that focuses on good food, better conversation, and a genuinely calm atmosphere. Hosting a chill night without the booze is all…

But the officers dispersed them using teargas canisters. Another group has engaged police along Kenyatta Avenue and All Saints Cathedral for the better part of the afternoon. Others also destroyed statues at Uhuru Park and dragged them to Kenyatta Avenue. At least one person was shot dead in…
On June 25, 2025, the David Maraga Presidential Campaign Secretariat released a statement recognising the date as a pivotal moment in Kenya’s democratic journey, describing it as the beginning of what it termed the “Third Liberation.” Referencing Kenya’s historical milestones, the statement likened the current civic awakening—led largely by the youth—to the past struggles against British colonial rule and the fight against one-party dominance. The campaign noted that many young Kenyans, particularly Generation Z, had paid the ultimate price in their quest for accountability, justice, and constitutional governance. “We stand in solidarity with those who were abducted, tortured, maimed, and…

Protesters in Venice are claiming an “enormous victory” after US tech billionaire Jeff Bezos and his wedding guests were forced to “run away” from the city centre, moving their main celebration to another location. The venues for the three-day party to mark the wedding of one of the world’s richest men to TV presenter Lauren Sanchez were never officially revealed. But the lavish celebrations were supposed to culminate in an event on Saturday at the sumptuous Scuola Grande della Misericordia. A local official in Venice has now confirmed to the BBC that the guests will gather instead at the Arsenale,…
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Tuesday raised the alarm over the falsification of imprests. The commission singled out senior county government officials using proxies within devolved units. In a statement delivered on Tuesday, EACC Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamud indicated that rogue officers have been using junior county staff, including interns, to hatch fraudulent schemes aimed at looting public funds through fictitious payments. The statement, read by EACC Western Region Manager Eric Ngumbi, further highlighted a spike in such cases toward the end of financial years, when devolved units scramble to exhaust all available resources before the closure of…

That is until a true unicorn comes and completely shifts the paradigm of the sport. Players like Michael Jordan in the NBA, Tiger Woods in golf, and now Shohei Ohtani in baseball have evolved the sport. The American Influence on Japanese…
Inspector General of police Douglas Kanja Tuesday warned against an attempt to access unauthorized and protected places like Parliament and State House. He said the protesters planning marches on June 25 should avoid the areas. “Additionally, it is important to note that unauthorized persons must refrain from accessing protected areas, under the Protected Areas Act (Cap 204, Laws of Kenya),” he said. This came as it emerged police not allow protesters near Parliament on Wednesday June 25 which will mark the first anniversary of last year’s similar protests. Access to State House will also not be allowed to unauthorized people.…

Iran denied firing any missiles towards Israel and the country’s top security body has vowed to respond to any further Israeli aggression. Here’s what we know so far. When did the ceasefire take effect? Just after…

Harris said he planned to take up the issue with the new US ambassador to Ireland who is due to formally take up his post next month. Mr Harris said he had asked his officials to engage directly with the US…
