Radio Personality Diamond Okusimba is reportedly detained at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after failing to raise Ksh1 million medical bill. Reports indicate that Okusimba, a presenter at Radio Africa’s Radio Jambo, has been at the Hospital for about a month. Okusimmba, known for his prowess in the Sports field, was admitted at the facility with chest complications, persistent headache and backache. Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has moved to court seeking orders to bar speaker Beatrice Elachi from assuming functions of the office of governor. In an application filed by his lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui, the city boss now wants the court to review his bail terms which bars him from accessing his City Hall office. The Kenya High School in Nairobi managed to scoop the highest number of A grades in this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam. The school topped with 76 As. The second school is Kapsabet High School that produced two candidates in the top 10 list. 46 candidates in the school scored As. The CS noted that candidates, parents and guardians who wish to get the result via SMS can do so by sending the candidate’s full index number (11 digits) followed by the word “KCSE” to 20076. National carrier, Kenya Airways, has announced that its earnings for the year ending 2019 are expected to go down by 25 per cent or more compared to earnings reported in 2018. This, according to KQ Board Chair Michael Joseph, is based on the forecasted results for the year ending December 31. Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday failed to appear before a court in Voi, Taita Taveta County, where he was expected to answer to assault charges. Sonko’s lawyers told Voi Law Courts Senior Resident Magistrate Frederick Mayaka Nyakundi that the governor, who was recently admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), is still unwell. The battery of lawyers led by Cecil Miller, Salim Mwadumbo, Jared Magolo and George Kithi told the court that Sonko was recuperating at home following doctors orders. A total of 699,745 candidates who sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) this year are expected to receive their results today. Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha is expected to announce the result on Wednesday morning at the Kenya National Examination Council headquarters on Dennis Pritt Road, Nairobi. Magoha is expected to brief President Uhuru Kenyatta before making the results public. This is following the approval of the results on Monday by the KNEC board. The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced plans to close a section of busy Thika Superhighway for three nights to pave way for erection of a footbridge. In a notice on Tuesday, KeNHA stated that the Thika Superhighway section at Mangu Road Junction (Njomoko)  will be partially closed from Thursday, December 19, 2019, to Saturday, December 21, 2019. In all the three nights, the section will be closed from 11 PM to 4 AM. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has denied media reports that rapper Kennedy Ombima alias King Kaka had been summoned to its headquarters along Kiambu Road. The artiste on Tuesday morning broke the internet after he claimed through his social media handles, that he had been summoned over his recent poetic piece dubbed ‘Wajinga Nyinyi’. The Communication Authority of Kenya (CA) was last week forced to issue an order compelling Eaton Towers to restore Telkom Kenya Limited (TKL) services after it switched them off over existing debt. In a press release seen by this writer, Eaton Towers suspended Telkom services on December 7 over Ksh255.6 million the network operator owes it inapplicable fees for the period September-November 2019. Eaton Towers argued that an agreement with Telkom provides for disconnection if bills remain unpaid for 90 days.
