An Administration Police officer who shot and killed 10 people while pursuing his girlfriend was on Thursday sentenced to 20 years in prison. Delivering the ruling, Embu resident judge Florence Muchemi handed the man identified as Peter Karanja, charged with murder, 20 years for each of the 10 counts but said they would run concurrently. The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) on Thursday morning shut down 80 chemists in Nairobi over the sell of substandard and illegal drugs. This is following a crackdown led by Senior inspector of drugs Julius Kaluai. Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has sued blogger Cyprian Nyakundi for alleged defamation. The governor, through Nyamu and Nyamu Company Advocates, served Nyakundi through an advert on the local daily published on Thursday. Police in Mombasa on Wednesday morning retrieved a dead body from the Indian ocean at the Likoni crossing channel. Reports indicate that the body of the unidentified man was found floating on the waters after it was carried to the shore by the waves.
