A family in Nairobi is crying out for justice after their kin died last weekend after he was reportedly ran over by a car in the newly-elected Kibra Member of Parliament Imran Okoth’s campaign convoy. The man identified as Nelson Chesoni died on Sunday evening a few hours after the accident along Mbagathi Way near Highrise. Two police officers were on Friday morning shot dead by suspected gangsters near Saika Dandora bridge, Nairobi. Reports indicate that the two police constables, attached to Obama Police post, were on patrol Mwenyenge when they were ambushed and fatally shot at around 4am. Authorities revealed that PC Joel Chesire was shot in the head while PC Albert Abeere was shot in the chest and neck resulting in their deaths. Deputy President William Ruto has vowed to strike Kibra constituency again in the future after Jubilee candidate McDonald Mariga lost to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s Imran Okoth in the Thursday mini-poll. Instant messaging application, WhatsApp, has in the last few days left many smiling with the introduction of privacy features that many users have been demanding for years. 26 candidates in the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination will spend the night in police cells after they were arrested over suspected exam malpractice. The suspects were arrested at St. Teresa Boys Primary School located in Nairobi County on Wednesday. They were among 154 private candidates taking their exams at the school. Taita Taveta County now stares at dissolution after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Wednesday approved a petition seeking its suspension. In a statement, Wafula Chebukati, the commission chairman stated that the petition met the required threshold of support from at least  10 per cent of the registered voters in the county. According to Chebukati, the petition was supported by 21,861 registered voters. There are 155,000 voters in Taita Taveta with the law requiring signatures from at least 10 per cent of the total voters translating to 15,500 signatures. The High Court has ordered the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to supply the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party with the Kibra constituency voter register with Identification (ID) numbers. An aircraft operated by local airline Safarilink on Wednesday skidded off the runway further raising the number of incidents that have been reported at the airport in the recent past. 10 people including two police officers were on Tuesday night killed in fresh bandit attacks in Jaldesa, Marsabit County. Reports indicate that three people were killed when bandits ambushed a vehicle they were travelling in. The other seven, who include the two police officers, were killed in a retaliatory attack. Naftali Kinuthia, the sole suspect in the gruesome murder of Moi University Medical student Ivy Wangechi, on Tuesday asked an Eldoret Court for time to pursue a plea bargain with the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
