A Form 1 student at Cardinal Otunga Girls in Bungoma County was on Wednesday found dead in one of the school dormitories. The girl allegedly took her own life after the school’s deputy principal shamed her for faking end term exam results. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Wednesday morning seized over Ksh102 million in fake Euros at a house in Githurai Kimbo, Kiambu County. In the intelligence-led operation, the police arrested three women. Former Deputy Auditor General Stephen Kinuthia has been granted Ksh10 million cash bail in Ksh100 million irregular software procurement case. Kinuthia, who was arrested on Friday,  was charged on Tuesday alongside 13 others including his two sons, Desmond Kinuthia and Nelson Kinuthia. A police officer, who recently hit headlines following an outburst on mistreatment by senior officers, has been sent on compulsory leave. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti has accused lawyer Philip Murgor of using Sarah Wairimu’s case to settle scores with the prosecution and investigators. This is following a contempt application filed at the High Court by Wairimu, the prime suspect in Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen’s murder, against the top detective and the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP). The National Police Service (NPS) has dismissed reports that former commissioner of police Duncan Wachira, who is receiving treatment in India, is soliciting for financial support. Over the weekend former Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Farah Maalim stated that Wachira suffered a heart attack three months ago and has been admitted at Apollo Protocol Hospital, India. A passenger plane operated by local airline Rudufu Air is reportedly stuck in the mud at Takaba Airstrip, Mandera West, after skidding off the runway on Sunday, October 20. The aircraft, that was ready for take-off to Mandera town with 30 passengers on board, skidded off on Sunday afternoon. A suspect linked to various M-Pesa fraud amounting to millions of shillings was on Sunday arrested by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). The man identified as Robert Mwita was arrested alongside two Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) guards who sleuths said he worked with to accomplish his theft.
