Police in Yala, Siaya County, have launched a manhunt for a 28-year-old man who allegedly murdered his neighbor. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), George Onyango clobbered 30-year-old Marvin Onyango to death in Onyoso village after he mocked his bedroom skills. One person has been reported dead and several others injured after a wall of a building collapsed at Parklands, Nairobi, on Thursday. Eyewitnesses said the wall adjacent to another building under construction came tumbling down fatally injuring a male worker at the site located in Parklands Fifth Avenue. Tom Mboya, a Nairobi businessman charged with attempting to kill Ronalo Foods restaurant owner William Osewe, has been sentenced to 23 years in jail. Mboya was convicted of attempted murder on Monday, September 27, 2021. He had been accused of shooting Osewe following a fight over a woman in 2016. National Assembly’s Environment Committee wants Karura Forest to be renamed after the late Kenyan political and environmental activist Wangari Maathai. The Committee held successful deliberations on the renaming of the forest with officials from the Environment ministry led by CS Keriako Tobiko on Tuesday. A schoolgirl is cooling her heels in police cells after she was found with 26 kilograms of bhang (marijuana) in Samburu. The secondary school student was arrested by a team of local administrators from Shabaa in Maralal town after a tip-off from the public. A foreign national linked to the killing of a 25-year-old woman at Sunny Side apartments in Nyali, Mombasa County, has been arrested. Suleiman Mayanja, a Ugandan national, was arrested on Monday evening, just hours after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launched a manhunt for him. 77 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Kenya, from a sample size of 2,415 tested in the last 24 hours. The country’s positivity rate is now at 3.2 percent. From the cases, 70 are Kenyans while seven are foreigners. 42 males while 35 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is 88 years. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday launched the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) drive at the Nakuru Athletic Club in Nakuru County. The exercise, which kicked off today, will run for a period of 30 days until November 2, 2021, in all the 1,450 County Assembly Wards (CAW). A robbery suspect was on Sunday morning killed in Nairobi after his gang was caught by police terrorising city residents. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the gang of three was robbing residents of their valuables at gunpoint. The government has warned members of the public against engaging brokers in an attempt to skip the e-citizen appointment system while seeking passport services. In a statement on Thursday, Immigration Department Director General Alexandar Muteshi said the government will not process documents of individuals found contravening the directive. “The public is strongly advised to avoid engaging brokers who use unorthodox means to attempt to bypass the e-citizen appointment system.
