Occupants of a bus belonging to Pollman’s Tours and Safaris escaped death by a whisker on Sunday morning after the vehicle plunged into the Indian Ocean at the Likoni ferry crossing channel, Mombasa County. Three people died on Sunday morning after the car they were travelling in collided with a trailer at Manyanya area in Kibwezi, Makueni county. Police reports indicate that the car, a Nissan Juke, was heading to Mombasa from Nairobi and the trailer to the opposite direction. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Wednesday ordered a search for 84 Kajiunduthi High school students in Tharaka Nithi County who are yet to report back to school. Peter Agoro has filed a notice to withdraw the case against nomination of Anne Kananu Mwenda as Nairobi Deputy Governor. The Nairobi resident had moved to court in February last year to challenge Ms Mwenda’s appointment by ousted Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko. Police in Mombasa are holding two colleagues who were arrested for allegedly extorting Ksh106,000 from a foreigner. The cops have been identified as Tabitha Nduta and Patrick Muneria from the Tourist Police Unit in Bamburi. The two are accused of obtaining the money from Werner Bance by threatening to arrest him. Police have launched investigation into an incident where Senate’s Chief Serjeant-at-arms allegedly shot himself in the thigh during a confrontation with suspected thugs in Thika town.
