    David Bennent is a Swiss actor born on September 9, 1966, in Lausanne, Switzerland.

    He is best known for his remarkable child performance as Oskar Matzerath in Volker Schlöndorff’s 1979 film adaptation of The Tin Drum, based on Günter Grass’s novel.

    Bennent has built a career that spans international films, theater productions across Europe, and collaborations with acclaimed directors.

    He speaks fluent German, French, and English, and has lived in Switzerland, Germany, and France.

    His father was the renowned German actor Heinz Bennent, and his mother is the former French dancer Diane Mansart.

    He continued with roles in films such as Legend (1985), where he played the elf Honeythorn Gump opposite Tom Cruise, and other European productions.
