The Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed Amin conducted a comprehensive security assessment in Kwale County, in view of the ongoing festive season, a time that typically sees increased movement of people and heightened social and economic activities.

Amin began his assessment at the Diani Police Station and proceeded to various beaches within Diani, areas of strategic significance during the festive period due to their vibrant tourism and recreational activities.

The focus of the assessment was to evaluate the existing security situation, operational preparedness, and service delivery by officers deployed on the ground to ensure the safety of both residents and visitors.

Amin was received by the Coast Regional Police Commander, Ali Nuno, alongside the Regional Criminal Investigations Officer, Daniel Kandie, and other senior police officials.

During his visit, the Director DCI engaged with members of the public to understand their security concerns, underscoring the importance of community cooperation, particularly during the festive season, in enhancing effective policing and building public trust.

In demonstration of accountability and adherence to the rule of law, Amin also inspected the holding cells and interacted with suspects involved in various criminal cases within Diani, reinforcing the NPS’s commitment to upholding human rights and maintaining professionalism in investigative and custodial processes.

This festive season, the security assessment underscores the NPS’s unwavering resolve to safeguard lives and property, enhance service delivery, and provide a peaceful, safe, and secure environment for all as Kenyans celebrate across the country.

Inspector General of the National Police Service, Douglas Kanja, on Wednesday undertook a routine road safety assessment along major highways leading to and from Nairobi, including the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, Nairobi-Nanyuki Highway, and the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway.

During the exercise, Kanja engaged with members of the public, boda boda riders, public service and private transport operators, as well as passengers.

The Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police (DIG-KPS) Eliud Lagat and his APS counterpart Gilbert Masengeli visited the Todo KDF Camp in Kolowa Sub-County, Baringo County, to celebrate Christmas with the officers and to express his appreciation for the excellent work the officers are doing.

The officers are part of the multi-agency Operation Maliza Uhalifu (OMU) security team, whose efforts have successfully contained banditry and restored calm and normalcy across the Kerio Valley region.
