The Election Observation Group (ELOG) on Wednesday said that it cannot tell whether the fresh presidential election held on 26 October was free, fair and credible.

Speaking in Nairobi, the group’s chairperson, Regina Opondo noted that the lack of observers and party agents apart from those of the Jubilee party, may have jeopardized the repeat polls.

According to Elog, some forms were doctored and others not signed. The group did however not say whether President Uhuru Kenyatta was legitimately elected for a second term in office.

The group also said that the October 26 poll may not have been conducted in strict adherence to the Supreme Court judgement that annulled the August 8 election.

Ms Opondo called on the Director of Public Prosecutions, Keriako Tobiko to probe individuals behind the irregularities.

Elog also called out the IEBC for allegedly printing the voter register, a day to the repeat polls.

“IEBC never cleaned its register despite KPMG recommendations,” Ms Opondo said.

It was also noted that the commission too away the peoples right to vote in Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori where elections were not held due to insecurity.

The commission noted that the results from the four counties would not affect the outcome of presidential results.

President Kenyatta was on Monday declared duly elected president having garnered 7.4 million votes.
