Migori Governor Okoth Obado had made another application asking the court to released  pending his hearing and determination him on bail citing medical grounds.

According to the application the governor suffers from a severe back problem known as a nerve compression with disc lesion on the lumber spine which started affecting him in the year 2013. The condition makes it difficult for the governor to stand for long hours.

“To manage the condition, I have been under special care of a medical doctor by the name of Prof. Ating’a,” reads the application.

He said that he had been seeing one Dr. Ating’a who has been managing the condition.   He said that due to the lack of proper medical treatment during the time he has been incarcerated, the condition aggravated and he was rushed to hospital on September 29.

He said that the prosecution had already served him with all the witness statements and therefore there were no compelling reasons to continue holding him in custody.

In the application Obado says that if bail is granted he will continue to cooperate with the police as he has in the past. He also said that the family of Sharon had reported any threats or intimidation on his part.

The governor also says that the investigators have nor linked him to the abductors neither has the prosecution presented evidence that his release would hinder their arrest.
