The body was discovered on Thursday, with police reporting that the woman had suffered multiple injuries.

Police said the deceased, believed to be an adult woman, had a deep wound at the back of her head and another injury on her left cheek.

She also had visible marks around her neck and bruises on both knees. Her face was swollen and covered in blood.

The scene was documented and processed by investigators before the body was moved to the Trans Mara West Sub-County Hospital mortuary.

The woman, identified only as Hafswah, a Burundian national, died after falling into an empty lift pit on Thursday evening.

Police said the woman had been at the rooftop of the unfinished building with her boyfriend, a casual labourer at the construction site, shortly before the incident.
