Open Your PowerPoint Presentation
Start by opening the PowerPoint file in which you want to add slide numbers.
Make sure all your slides are available before applying the numbering.
- Open Microsoft PowerPoint
- Load your presentation
- Review the slide sequence

Go to the Insert Tab
PowerPoint includes a built-in option for adding slide numbers.
This feature can be found in the Insert menu.
- Click the Insert tab
- Locate the Text group
- Select Slide Number

Open the Header and Footer Window
When you select Slide Number, the Header and Footer dialog box will appear.
