TymeBank is a South African digital bank that offers easy and affordable banking through online platforms and partner stores. While the bank’s services are convenient, you may decide to close your TymeBank account for personal reasons, such as switching banks, reducing the number of accounts you manage, or no longer using the service. Cancelling your TymeBank account is a straightforward process when done properly.

    1. Understand What Cancelling Means

When you cancel your TymeBank account, all your linked services — including your EveryDay account and savings goals — will be permanently closed. Any remaining balance must be withdrawn or transferred before closure. Once the account is deleted, you cannot access your transaction history, so it is advisable to download or note important details beforehand.

    1. Clear Your Account Balance

Before you request cancellation, make sure your TymeBank account balance is zero. You can transfer any remaining funds to another bank account using the TymeBank app or withdraw the money from any Pick n Pay or Boxer till point. If your account still has funds, the bank cannot close it.

    1. Settle Any Outstanding Obligations

If your account has pending transactions, debit orders, or negative balances due to unpaid fees, these must be settled first. TymeBank will not process an account closure request if there are active transactions or unpaid amounts.

    1. Contact TymeBank Customer Support

The easiest way to cancel your TymeBank account is by contacting customer service. You can reach the support team by calling 0860 999 119 or emailing service@tymebank.co.za. When contacting them, provide your full name, ID number, and registered cellphone number. Request for your account to be closed permanently.

If you email, include a brief message explaining that you would like to cancel your TymeBank account and attach a copy of your ID for verification. The customer service team will confirm your request and guide you through the next steps.

    1. Visit a TymeBank Kiosk (Optional)

You can also visit a TymeBank kiosk at any Pick n Pay or Boxer store to get assistance with cancelling your account. Ask the in-store assistant for help or use the kiosk to access your account details before contacting customer care for final closure.

    1. Wait for Confirmation

After you submit your request, TymeBank will process your account closure. You will receive a confirmation email or SMS once your account has been successfully cancelled. Keep this confirmation for your records as proof of closure.

    1. Check for Any Further Charges

After cancellation, monitor your other bank accounts or mobile number to ensure no further deductions or linked payments occur. If you notice any issues, contact TymeBank support immediately to resolve them.
