Knowing how to change the phone number on a Google account is important if you have changed your mobile number or no longer use the number linked to your account. Your phone number helps with account recovery, security alerts, two-step verification, and receiving important notifications. Keeping this information updated ensures that you can continue accessing your Google services securely and recover your account easily if needed.

Sign In to Your Google Account

Begin by opening your web browser or the Google app and signing in to your Google account.

Use the account whose phone number you want to update.

    • Open your Google account
    • Sign in with your details
    • Access the correct account
    1. Open Personal Information Settings

Navigate to the Personal Info section of your Google account.

Locate the phone number currently associated with your account.

    • Open Personal Info
    • Find your contact details
    • Select the phone number option
    1. Edit Your Phone Number

Tap or click on the existing phone number, then choose the option to edit or update it.

Enter your new mobile number carefully and proceed to the next step.

    1. Verify the New Number

Google will send a verification code to your new mobile number.

Enter the code when prompted to confirm that you own the number.

Once verified, your Google account will be updated with the new phone number.

    • Check your SMS messages
    • Enter the verification code
    • Complete the verification process
    1. Remove the Old Number if Necessary
