Here is how to make cheese sauce without flour.

    Ingredients

    To make a flour-free cheese sauce, you will need:

    • 1 cup (250ml) milk (whole milk or cream for extra richness)
    • 1 cup (100g) grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ½ teaspoon black pepper
    • ½ teaspoon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)

    Steps to Make Cheese Sauce Without Flour

    1. Heat the Butter and Milk
      In a saucepan over low to medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the milk and stir continuously to combine.
    2. Season the Mixture
      Add salt, black pepper, and any optional ingredients such as mustard or garlic powder. Stir well to blend the flavors.
    3. Melt the Cheese
      Gradually add the grated cheese, stirring constantly. Allow the cheese to melt completely into the milk mixture. Continue stirring until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
    4. Adjust Consistency
      If the sauce is too thick, add a little more milk. If it is too thin, let it cook for a few extra minutes while stirring to thicken naturally.
