IEBC has dropped Airtel and Telkom as service providers in the fresh presidential polls in October 26 .The commission has however maintained a transmission deal with mobile service provider Safaricom saying that it considered the extensive network coverage around the country.

IEBC said that the move was to avoid hitches that they witnessed in the August 8 polls saying that they are the main reason for the nullification.

Safaricom will be required to provide KIEMs kit tablet sim cards in all the 40883 polling stations.

This comes after NASA had accused Safaricom of being part of the irregularities that happened during the nullified polls, claims which Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has dismissed saying that those accusations were ‘reckless callous and unnecessary.’
