JKIAJomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) is a 24 hour free WI-FI network, starting Wednesday, 9 May, 2018.

The airport previously offered 15 minutes of free WI-FI after which users were subjected to pay a fee to use the service.

In 2017, the service was extended to an hour.

Kenyans online who were excited about the new service as many airports world over do not offer the same service. Some felt that it was just another way for the powers that be to steal from the taxpayers.

But the complimentary almost always never works….how are they going to maintain that infrastructure for 24hrs 7 days a week….this is just another tender to some big guys….chess not checkers

Well done but what we really, really need is friendly treatment at airports. Like covered walkways and convenient drop off and pick up points at entrances and exits.

That’s the sign of becoming world class airport. Every airport in world provides free wifi. Have been to JKIA but wifi was an issue.

24 hrs is a bit too much. Take it down to 4 hrs max. Is there a layover thats 24 hrs? All the net will be hogged by airport personnel and i bet they run to thousands making the Wi-Fi unreliable and too slow.
