    KAA Invites Applications for Managing Director/CEO Position

    The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has invited applications for the position of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

    In a notice published in MyGov on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, KAA said the successful candidate will serve for a three-year term.

    “The Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the Accounting Officer and is responsible to the Board for day-to-day management and co-ordination of activities in the Authority; defining and executing strategy, generating revenue, engaging customers and stakeholders, managing risk and ensuring compliance, driving performance and growing talent,” the notice reads.

    The CEO will provide overall strategic leadership of the Authority, oversee daily operations, and guide the senior management team in implementing strategic priorities. The role includes engaging key stakeholders in aviation initiatives, presenting strategy and investment plans to the Board, and providing timely information on operations and financial performance.

    The office holder will also ensure optimal use of the Authority’s assets, strengthen revenue streams, and maintain strong accountability, risk management and internal control systems. Additionally, the CEO will ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, improve service quality, build a high-performance workforce, and establish performance measures aligned with the Authority’s strategic plan.

    Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Marketing, Statistics, Engineering, Social Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution, as well as a Master’s degree. Certification in aviation will be an added advantage.

    Candidates should have at least 10 years of work experience, including five years in a senior leadership role with direct responsibility for strategic planning, revenue generation, management of large budgets, and delivery of positive financial performance. A leadership course lasting at least four weeks from a reputable institution is also required.

    Interested candidates may submit applications via email to chairman@kaa.go.ke or send hard copies quoting the job reference to the Chairman, Board of Directors, Kenya Airports Authority, KAA Head Office, Airport North Road, P.O. Box 19001-00501, Nairobi. Applications must be received by March 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. East African Time.

    Nicholas Bodo is currently serving as Acting Managing Director.
