The High Court has for the second time dismissed NARC-Kenya Martha Karua’s petition against Governor Ann Waiguru.
Delivering the ruling at the Kerugoya Law Courts, Justice Lucy Gitari said that the governor was elected in a free and fair manner.
Earlier on in the day, security was heightened outside the law courts as both parties awaited the ruling.

Justice Gitari had dismissed the case on November 15, 2017 because it was ‘hopeless, defective and incurable’ prompting Karua to move to the Court of Appeal.
But the case took a new turn after Karua claimed that video evidence on voter bribery got lost after being filed in court. The court later heard that she did not in fact include the crucial evidence she claimed went missing in the initial affidavits she filed in court in her case against Waiguru.
