Kenya has been thrown into mourning following the passing of Malava Constituency Member of Parliament Moses Malulu Injendi.

The legislator, who was serving his third consecutive term in the National Assembly, breathed his last on February 17, 2025, at 5:15 p.m. at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi.

In a statement on Monday , National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the dedicated lawmaker, describing him as a committed leader who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of his constituents and advance the country’s legislative agenda.

“Hon. Injendi was a dedicated and passionate representative who served his constituents with unwavering commitment and integrity. His tireless efforts, particularly in the education sector and the sugar industry, will be deeply missed,” the Speaker said.

Injendi, who also served as Vice Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Education & Research, was a strong advocate for policies aimed at strengthening Kenya’s education system and reviving the struggling sugar sector, a key economic pillar in his Western Kenya backyard.

The Speaker conveyed heartfelt condolences to the late MP’s family, friends, and the people of Malava, urging the nation to remember him for his remarkable service.

As news of his demise spreads, tributes have continued to pour in from fellow lawmakers, constituents, and leaders across the political divide, all recognizing his invaluable contributions to national development.

Caleb Amisi tweeted: “Mhesh has rested. Go well, Malulu .My condolences to the family and his constituents!”
