A family in Rarieda is mourning the death of their daughter after she was clobbered to death by her brother-in-law after he learned of her plans to marry a man he did not approve.

According to the area assistant chief Peter Odongo, Elijah Agutu Ogutu did not want her sister-in-law to marry their neighbor’s son.

Neighbors report that Ogutu, 60, started attacking Awino after he found her on phone with her fiancée on phone.

He then pounced on her with kicks, blows and used a crude weapon to continuously hit her, killing her o the spot.
