Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on his sofa set in his house in Peponi area, Nairobi.

The body was discovered on Monday June 30 and was identified as that of John Koki.

He had not been seen for the entire weekend prompting his neighbours to start looking for him.

The neighbours said they went to check and found the door opened and deceased lying dead on the sofa set.

The body was half naked and had no visible injuries.

The cause of the death is yet to be known.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Elsewhere in Mutituni, Machakos County, a mother of a two-year-old boy was arrested after he was taken to the local hospital while unresponsive.

The body had strangulation marks on the neck when it was taken to the hospital.

The mother claimed the boy had fatally fallen in the house before he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said an autopsy planned on the body will determine how he died.

In Mt Elgon, Bungoma County, police said they are investigating a murder case in a man was stoned to death.

This is after a group of bodaboda riders attacked him on claim he was a thief.

Police who responded to the scene said they found the body of the man lying near Chepkoya Primary School after the murder.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing.

In a village in Bondo, Siaya County, a man was hacked to death in a domestic quarrel.

Police said Victor Katana Odhiambo was hacked in the head using a panga by his brother in a tussle.

This followed a quarrel, police said.

The suspect later surrendered to the local police station after locals confronted him at the hospital where the man had been declared dead.

This is after he escaped from the hospital in fear of being lynched.

Police said they established the man is an ex-convict as he had been jailed and released from prison for the murder of his uncle in April 2024 after serving a sentence.

Police said the body was on Monday June 30 moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
