    Man kills younger brother in land dispute in Kapenguria

    A man hit and killed his younger brother in a land dispute in a village in Kapenguria, West Pokot County.

    The deceased was identified as Danson Krop, 25. His body was found in their compound hours after his murder on December 30, 2025, police said.

    The body had injuries in the head when it was discovered. The deceased and his elder brother had quarreled before the drama turned fatal.

    The murder weapon which police said was a jembe was found with blood stains next to the body.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. Police said the suspected assailant was arrested for murder and will be arraigned.

    And an American tourist was found dead in his bed in Malindi, Kilifi County.

    The victim was identified as James Warner Fentress, 80. He had arrived in Kenya on December 24 for the festive season. He was in the company of his daughter when the death happened on December 30, 2025. The cause of the death was not known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.

    Elsewhere, a prison warder was killed in an accident along the Luanda-Stendikisa road in Vihiga County. Constable Okoth Ayoo, 37 of Shikutsa Prisons in Kakamega was driving a saloon car when it was involved in a head on collision.

    Along the Kiritiri-Kiambere road in Embu, a boy aged eight died after an ox cart he was riding on overturned.

    The cart was being ridden by his 17-year-old boy when the accident happened on December 30, 2025, police said.

    This was after it hit a culvert and overturned forcing the child to land on his head. He was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital, police said.

    On Tuesday, nine people were killed in separate accidents reported in the country, police said. The victims included four riders, two pedestrians, two passengers and a driver.

    Police said at least 19 people who included 13 passengers, three drivers and two pedestrians were left with serious injuries.

    The accidents are under probe.
