    Man murdered, body dumped in pit latrine in Kinungi

    Detectives are investigating an incident where the body of a man was found in a pit latrine after a murder incident in Kinungi area, Naivasha, Nakuru County.

    The body of Samuel Njoroge Meja, 40 was found in the uncovered latrine long after the murder had happened on Monday December 15, 2025.

    The fire brigade from Naivasha arrived at the scene and helped to retrieve the body. Police said the body had visible injuries in the head, face and neck.

    Police said they are investigating murder in the incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

    The motive of the murder is yet to be established, police said on Tuesday.

    In Kiminini, Trans Nzoia County, a loader was found murdered in a lorry.

    The body of Evans Murumbwa was discovered in the driver’s cabin with visible head injuries, police said.

    Police said the loader was killed on Monday dawn and the motive of the same is yet to be known.

    The lorry driver had parked it while laden with maize near a store along the Kiminini-Ndalu Road on December 12, 2025 and left for his home for an off duty.

    He reported on December 15 when he found his loader who had been staying in the cabin dead.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.

    And police in the Nyamasaria area, Kisumu County, a one-year-old minor died in a pool of water near their home.

    The family of the toddler said she wandered from the house to the place where she drowned in the pool of water

    The body was later moved to the local mortuary pending an autopsy. This was after hours of pleading with the family by the police. The family had declined releasing the body to the mortuary due to the costs of preservation and autopsy.

    Police said they are investigating the Sunday incident.
