Kenya’s Nakumatt Holdings Limited has officially launched its first of the many upcoming stores in Tanzania. The regional retail giant opened the store at Milimani City promising to buy more Tanzanian products to sell in the store.

Nakumatt acquired three shops belonging to South Africa’s Shoprite in Tanzania in a deal pundits say is worth around $45.5 Million.

99 per cent of Nakumatt workers in Tanzania are Tanzanians, helping create employment opportunities. Nakumatt Mlimani is the retail giant’s second store in Tanzania after Nakumatt Moshi which opened in 2011 in Moshi.
