The NCBA Golf Series heads to Ruiru Sports Club this weekend, with more than 200 golfers expected to compete for qualification slots to the Grand Finale scheduled for November 28 at Karen Country Club.

The Ruiru leg, set for Saturday, September 5, will feature golfers competing across the Overall Gross, Men’s Gross, Lady Gross, Division Two Men, Division Two Ladies, Division Three and Junior categories. Winners in each category will secure places at the Grand Finale.

The event follows last weekend’s NCBA Golf Series leg at Kiambu Golf Club, where Caesar Mugo emerged the Men’s Gross winner after carding 83 gross to book his place at the Grand Finale.

Wanjiru Kamau won the Ladies’ Gross category with 76 gross off a handicap of four, while Agnes Nyawira posted 42 points to take the overall title. Kelvin Nganga won the Men’s Division Two category on 38 points after edging Patrick Gakure on countback, with Rose Kabutha taking the Ladies’ Division Two title on 40 points. Alex Kamau won the Junior category with 35 points.

Meanwhile, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) circuit will also be in action this weekend, with the 2026 NCBA Railway Invitational taking place at Kenya Railways Golf Club from September 4 – 6.

The tournament will bring together 89 elite amateur golfers competing for a KES 500,000 prize purse and valuable ranking points.

Defending champion Isaac Makokha will return to defend his title on home turf. He is expected to face stiff competion with Muthaiga’s Jay Sandhu who heads the current Order of Merit with 1,535 points, John Kamaisi of Nakuru who is second on 1,082 points, followed by Adel Balala of Nyali on 744 points.

Other top players expected in the field include Elvis Muigua, Eugene Wafula, Rwanda’s Jean D’Amour Hitayezu and junior golfer Junaid Manji.

    Juniors in action at Limuru

At the same time, juniors will be in action on Sunday, September 6, when Limuru Country Club hosts the latest leg of the U.S. Kids Golf Nairobi Local Tour.

The tournament will bring together boys and girls aged between five and 18 years, competing in age-based divisions aimed at giving them competitive experience while supporting their development in the sport.

The programme is organised in partnership with U.S. Kids Golf and the Junior Golf Foundation Kenya, with support from NCBA.

The young golfers will also compete for Priority Status points, which can earn them qualification opportunities for U.S. Kids Golf international events, including the Regional Invitational and U.S. Kids Golf Regional Championship.
