    Early Life

Born Nicholas Edward Foles on January 20, 1989, in Austin, Texas, Nick grew up attending Westlake High School, where he became a two-year starter at quarterback. During his time there, he shattered several school passing records previously held by future NFL star Drew Brees. Though he also excelled at basketball, Foles ultimately committed to football.

Nick initially committed to Arizona State, briefly considered Michigan State, and later transferred to the University of Arizona, where he emerged as the Wildcats’ starting quarterback. As a redshirt junior in 2010, he led Arizona to a 7–1 start, including a nationally televised win over ninth-ranked Iowa. In 2011, Foles ranked first in the Pac-12 Conference in total offense and finished among the top quarterbacks nationally in passing yards.

    NFL Career

Foles was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 88th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played with the Eagles from 2012 to 2014 and enjoyed a breakout season in 2013, when he posted a historic 27-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio and tied the NFL record with seven touchdown passes in a single game.

That same season, Foles recorded one of the 60 perfect passer rating games in NFL history and later earned Pro Bowl Offensive MVP honors. In 2014, he led the league in passer rating, further establishing himself as a top quarterback.

In 2015, Foles was traded to the St. Louis Rams, where he signed a contract extension but was later benched. He spent the 2016 season with the Kansas City Chiefs before returning to the Eagles in 2017.

In the postseason, he guided Philadelphia past the Atlanta Falcons and delivered a dominant performance against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC Championship Game. In Super Bowl LII, Foles made history by throwing and catching a touchdown pass on the iconic “Philly Special” play. The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41–33, earning the franchise’s first Super Bowl title, and Foles was named Super Bowl MVP.

    Later Career Stops

Foles returned to a backup role with the Eagles in 2018 and again helped the team reach the playoffs. In 2019, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars as a starter but was later traded to the Chicago Bears in 2020, where he spent two seasons as both a starter and backup. After his release in 2022, Foles signed with the Indianapolis Colts as a veteran backup quarterback.
