The Paynet Group is taking a leading role in AITEC’s baby which is on its fifth year. The annual Banking & Mobile Money conference will have the group as the Platinum sponsor according to a press release sent out yesterday.

    AITEC

Paynet CEO Bernard Matthewman acknowledges that the conference has become the market-leading event for East Africa’s financial services sector and feels that it plays a valuable role in nurturing innovation and excellence in banking.

AITEC say that the 2010 conference attracted close to 500 delegates and had over 100 expert speakers, a figure which we cant independently confirm.  Around 500 exhibition visitors were also reported.

Already the organisers have confirmed that 25 top speakers for the conference programme.  AITEC conferences have been loosing the attendees because they are regarded as rigid with the same old faces without new ideas always headlining the event. They should look for inspiring speakers who are either young at heart or well informed with the current trends because the current tech consumer will will not settle for mediocrity.

The theme of the 2011 conference is “Strategies for a new era of financial integration” in response to the accelerated drive for regional business across borders.  The East African Business Council is supporting the event as a platform to promote effective financial services to support the accelerating business drive across the region.

What do you think of the event?
