PS Omollo says government committed to strengthening security agencies

The government is committed to strengthening the country’s security sector.

Principal Secretary for Internal Security and National Administration, Dr. Raymond Omollo said this is the only way the country will achieve its agenda and stability.

Speaking during a Sabbath Day and Thanksgiving service held at the National Youth Service (NYS) Headquarters in Ruaraka, Omollo emphasized that the welfare of officers across the National Youth Service, National Police Service, Kenya Prisons Service, and other security agencies remains a top priority for the administration.

He commended the NYS for its instrumental role in molding young people into disciplined and responsible citizens.

“Those who have gone through NYS carry themselves with admirable discipline. We encourage the leadership of NYS to continue their critical work of nurturing the youth who will lead and build this nation,” he said.

Addressing the importance of social responsibility, Dr. Omollo underscored the role of parents and guardians in shaping the next generation.

He urged them to instill respect, discipline, and godly values in children, while cautioning against the growing trend of youth being encouraged to challenge authority and traditional values.

“As parents, we are responsible for raising children who are respectful not just to their peers, but also to teachers, elders, and the broader community,” he noted.

“We must ensure our children are brought up in the ways of the Lord so they grow into responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.”
