twitter, safaricomKenya’s leading mobile network operator Safaricom on Wednesday morning blocked the Kenya Police Service (PoliceKE) on Twitter.

This was after a Twitter user, Gathigi highlighted an ordeal where someone was robbed in broad daylight along Kenyatta Avenue. The person, Gathigi says was asked to send money to the robbers via M-Pesa.

The victim then reported the matter to the police and afterwards made their way to a Safaricom shop in a bid to find out the number to which they had sent the money to.

The police then tagged Safaricom on Twitter but could not interact with the telco as they were blocked from ‘following and viewing’ Safaricom’s tweets.
