    SHA Appoints 23 New Assistant Directors

    The Social Health Authority (SHA) has appointed 23 new assistant directors across various departments in a move aimed at improving service delivery and strengthening its operations nationwide.

    In a statement issued on Friday, October 31, 2025, the Chairperson of the SHA Board, Abdi Mohamed, said the appointments follow a competitive recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025. He noted that the new team will play a key role in expanding the Authority’s capacity to deliver quality healthcare services to Kenyans.

    “This expansion of the senior management team injects a wealth of experience into the Authority’s ranks. These new leaders are crucial for enhancing operational capacity across all Directorates as SHA scales up to achieve its core mandate,” the Authority said.

    Among the appointees is Rose Nakhungu Nandasaba, who will serve as Assistant Director, Legal Services, while Adow Osman Ahmed will take up the position of Assistant Director, Registration and Compliance. In Supply Chain Management, the Authority appointed Moindi Kevin Omai as Assistant Director.

    In the Planning and Linkages Directorate, the Authority named Beatrice Chengat Kimale and Douglas Odhiambo Owino as Assistant Directors. Mercy Kamene Mutua and James Letangule will serve as Assistant Directors in Benefits Management, while Samira Swaleh and Kennedy Kirichu Ndegwa will work in Fund Management.

    The Finance and Accounts Directorate received new leadership with the appointment of Mohammed Elmi and Irene Jepng’etich Rono. In Administration, Callista Kendi Omwenga and Timothy Musyoka Malusi were appointed to serve in senior roles.

    Human Resource Management and Customer Experience was also strengthened with the appointment of Maurreen Cherwon, Khadija Ali Juma and Bria Muriithi Mugambi. In the Information and Communication Technology Department, Julius Kiamba Muli was named Assistant Director.

    Additional appointments in Registration and Compliance include Fardoda Abdi Ali and Gilbert Mogambi Osoro, while Julia Ouko will now serve in Provider Management. The Authority further appointed James Tama and Samson Nthei as Assistant Directors in Internal Audit.
