Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko appeared irate as a group of youths made their way into Uhuru Park.

The crowd wore red t-shirts bearing Sonko’s name as other carried banners with a “Sonko Defence Forces” phrase.

The rowdy crowd was quickly dispersed by officers present during the Labour Day Celebrations.

Though government officials are missing from the celebrations, opposition leaders including Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula have joined Kenyans in marking the day.

Labour CS Ukur Yattani is in attendance on behalf of the Jubilee government.

Workers are expecting a 15 percent salary increment.
