A man was stabbed and killed in an incident following an argument at an apartment in Wajir Town.

The body of Cyrus Munene Mboroki, 30 was found in his rental house long after the incident on March 31, police said.

The body had stab wounds in the stomach and chest, police said.

The assailant is yet to be found, police said of the Monday night incident. The motive of the incident is yet to be established.

The body was moved to Wajir Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem even as police hunt for the assailant.

Elsewhere in Mukaa, Makueni, a body of a man was found lying on the roadside after suspected murder.

Police said they were called to the scene and found the body of an unidentified man with visible injuries on the left eye.

There was blood oozing from the right ear. Preliminary investigation showed that the deceased was murdered elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene.

The body was moved to Kilungu Sub-County Hospital mortuary, awaiting postmortem and identification. Police said they are investigating murder in the incident.

Elsewhere in Kimilili, Bungoma County, one Harrison Wafula Wamukota, 65 died after being assaulted by a person known to him.

The victim was rushed to Kimilili Sub-County Hospital where he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment. The body was moved to the mortuary, awaiting postmortem.

The suspect was arrested pending arraignment. Police said they recovered two dry pieces of wood used as a murder weapon.

Cases of murder have been on the rise amid calls on parties to solve their differences amicably. Police say they are solving some of the incidents and they are pending in courts.

A special DCI unit is focusing on the cases. The team says they receive up to eight murder cases daily which is alarming.
