    Woman found murdered in her house in Kericho

    A 19-year-old woman was found murdered in her house in the Eland area, Kericho town.

    The woman was identified as Esther Wairimu, police said. Her body was found lying in bed and in a pool of blood long after the murder.

    Police said the woman had injuries in her left hand and back. Her husband is missing after the murder on December 15, 2025.

    The motive of the murder is yet to be known, police said on Tuesday after moving the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    Elsewhere at the junction of the Oloitoktok-Olenguruone roads, in Kileleshwa, Nairobi a suspected thief was lynched by a mob in a dramatic chase.

    The incident happened on Monday afternoon after the suspect was accused of snatching a mobile phone from a female pedestrian in the area.

    The rider and a pillion passenger were on a motorcycle when the incident happened. Other riders joined the chase and caught up with the rider who they stoned to death.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and other procedures.

    Police said the motorcycle was stolen at the scene by unknown people while the pillion passenger managed to escape on foot.

    In Kabujoi, Nandi County, a suspect who had been stoned by a mob succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Monday.

    Police said they are investigating the incident.

    In Holo area, Kisumu County, a woman was robbed of Sh300,000 that was kept there by members of a self-help group. The woman is the treasurer of Odhwe Self Help Group in the area. She claimed unknown number of people raided her house and grabbed a safe containing the cash and other valuables before escaping. The safe was later recovered in Kisumu town by police who were on patrol. A suspect was arrested in the drama.

    Police said they are investigating the incident which happened Monday dawn.

    And bomb experts disabled a suspected improvised explosive device that was found under a bridge in Nyatike.

    The device had been connected to a live wire which was disabled by the experts who were called there. The team collected seven pieces of gel explosives from the scene.

    The exercise went on smoothly on Monday afternoon by multi-agency teams that cordoned the area for hours.

    Police said they are investigating the motive of the incident.
