Receiving calls from “No Caller ID” numbers can be annoying, especially if they’re persistent telemarketers or spam. Fortunately, iPhones offer simple ways to block these unknown callers or reduce their interruptions. Whether you want to silence them or block them entirely, there are settings and apps that can help you regain control over your incoming calls. Here is how to block no caller ID on iPhone.

    1. Use the Silence Unknown Callers Feature

Apple includes a built-in feature called Silence Unknown Callers, which automatically sends any call from an unknown number straight to voicemail.

    • Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
    • Scroll down and tap Phone.
    • Select Silence Unknown Callers.
    • Toggle the switch to On.

This won’t block the calls entirely, but it ensures that your phone won’t ring or vibrate when someone with no caller ID tries to contact you. The call will go to voicemail, and you’ll still see it in your Recents list.

    1. Use Focus Mode or Do Not Disturb

Another method to filter unknown calls is by customizing Focus Mode or Do Not Disturb settings to allow only calls from your contacts.

    • Go to Settings and tap Focus or Do Not Disturb.
    • Under Allowed Notifications, tap People.
    • Choose Allow Calls From and select All Contacts.

This way, any call that isn’t from someone in your contact list—including those with no caller ID—won’t ring your phone.

    1. Contact Your Network Provider

Some mobile carriers offer additional tools or services to block anonymous calls.

    • Dial your carrier’s customer service number or visit their app.
    • Ask if they provide Anonymous Call Blocking or Caller ID filtering.
    • Enable any available services that block restricted or hidden numbers.

Carriers like Vodacom, MTN, or Telkom in South Africa may have specific codes or features that can filter these types of calls.

    1. Use a Third-Party Call Blocking App

There are several apps available on the App Store that offer more robust call blocking and spam filtering features. Some popular options include:

    • Truecaller
    • Hiya
    • RoboKiller

Download one of these apps, grant the required permissions, and follow the instructions to block or screen calls from hidden or unknown numbers.

    1. Create a Contact for “No Caller ID” and Block It (Workaround)

Although iPhones don’t allow blocking “No Caller ID” directly through the Contacts app, there’s a popular workaround:

    • Open the Contacts app and create a new contact named “No Caller ID”.
    • For the phone number, type 000-000-0000.
    • Save the contact and then block it through the contact card.

This may not stop all anonymous calls, but it can reduce some of them that use similar spoofed patterns.
