Machakos Governor, Alfred Mutua is headed for a term in office as he takes an early lead against his Wiper Party opponent, Wavinya Ndeti.
With 1141 polling stations having tallied their results, Mutua has garnered 209,715 votes against Wavinya’s 174,468 votes.

It was a hotly contested seat with Mutua having defected from the Kalonzo Musyoka led party.
For Wavinya, it has been an uphill task with in and out of court battles.
