Anthony Martial has explained his delay to return to the Manchester United’ fold for pre-season saying his “family will always come first.”

The French winger was responding to Jose Mourinho’s claims that he was taking long to re-unite with the team after being given time off to witness the birth of his second child Swan.

In a presser after the Red Devils went down 4-1 to premier league rivals Liverpool over the weekend in the USA, the Portuguese expressed frustrations with the absence of his key players for the tour.

“He has the baby and after the baby is born – beautiful baby, and we thank God – he should be here and he is not her,” the former Chelsea boss said.

In response the former Monaco player said, “Thank you all for your posts. My little Swan is fine, for the mom, it was harder, but thanks to God she’s better now.

Sorry but, my family will always come first. Back tomorrow in Manchester,” he tweeted.
