Police in Kisumu have began investigations in Kisumu Girls’ High School over the death of a student. According to reports, the student was found dead under unclear circumstances. John Magufuli-led government has opted to cancel a Ksh18 billion deal they had drafted with a Kenyan firm to buy cashew nuts from Tanzania. Speaking on the recent development, the country’s Industry and Trade Minister Joseph Kakunda, mentioned that they resolved to cancel the deal after the firm failed to fully honor an agreement. The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS)’s 2019 Economic Survey has divulged that most Kenyan purchased station wagons as opposed to saloon cars. According to the report released on Tuesday, the sales of saloon cars have drastically declined in the past five years. The Auditor-General Edward Ouko has raised concerns over an irregular expenditure by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) during the 2017/18 financial year. According to his report, the electoral agency spent Ksh700 million on food alone in its county offices during the 2017 General Elections.
