Chinese pay television services operator StarTimes has been barred by a South African court from broadcasting indecent videos. StarTimes through its affiliate StarSat and its parent company have been slapped with the ban after an organisation called Justice Alliance of SA (JASA) and Justice and Doctors for Life went to court to block the move by South Africa’s communications regulator, Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA), to issue StarSat with the license to broadcast adult content. The school head has reportedly sent away a young boy because he is not able to afford Ksh 280 fee to feed invigilators supervising the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education ( KCPE) exams in the school. Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service has now ordered all police flags be flown at half-mast. This is Kimaiyo’s way of saving face after having left the police officers die like dogs in one of the worst massacres of young police officers. A gang of 4 armed robbers killed a watchman at the popular Mama Oliech’s restaurant along Marcus Garvey road in Kilimani estate. Passengers travelling to Lagos, Nigeria on Kenya Airways flight KQ532 have been ordered out after a passenger going to Lubumbashi, DRC boarded the flight by mistake. The flight to Lagos Nigeria was supposed to depart at 9AM. The mistake was discovered on routine cabin crew check when the plane was already taxiing and all passengers were seated. A Kenya Navy soldier was this morning killed when armed attacked tried to raid the heavily guarded 17 Kenya Rifles barracks in Nyali, Mombasa. It is not clear whether the soldier was killed with a panga or shot dead but after the attack, 7 of the attackers were shot dead. Security around the heavily guarded facility has been raised with vehicles passing around the barracks now screened and motorists asked for identity cards before being allowed to pass.
