The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has approved murder charges against five suspects in connection with the killing of Charles Ong’ondo Were (pictured), the late Member of Parliament for Kasipul Constituency. Two police officers were Tuesday June 3 killed in an accident involving their vehicle and a trailer at Matisi area on Webuye-Bungoma Road, police said. Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja warned land rate defaulters in the city they will face the music if they don’t pay. He said that the county’s revenue collection department has intensified its enforcement efforts as the financial year draws to a close. Relatives of two men whose bodies were found dumped on the roadside in Menengai, Nakuru County identified them at a mortuary in an emotional event. Grief-stricken family members and friends were overwhelmed with emotion after viewing and identifying the bodies of their relatives at the Nakuru County Mortuary on Tuesday June 3. Police in Kilifi are investigating an incident where five men broke into pastor Ezekiel Odero’s New Life Church and Prayer Centre in Mavueni and stole a covenant box. A 22-year-old woman was found murdered after she had quarreled with her husband over parental issues in Mulot, Narok County. The assailant is said to have used a rope to strangle one Naomi Kones. A man suspected to be a charcoal burner was shot and killed in a clash with Kenya Forest Service personnel in Kibiri Forest, Vihiga County. One KFS personnel was injured after being attacked by a group that was said to be burning charcoal in the forest on June 2. Detectives are investigating at least ten suicide incidents that were reported separately in parts of the country. The majority of the victims are men, police statistics show. The first incident was reported in Matisi, Bungoma County on June 1 where one Stephen Mlongo, 24 died by suicide by hanging himself in their kitchen.
