US immigration agents have arrested famed Mexican boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, 39, and plan to deport him to Mexico where he has “an active arrest warrant… for his involvement in organised crime”, US officials announced on Thursday. Former Deputy President of South Africa, David Dabede Mabuza died at the age of 64, state broadcaster SABC News announced on Thursday 3 July, 2025. The family was consulting with President Cyril Ramaphosa before making the official announcement, the broadcaster said. Mask vendor Boniface Kariuki died from a head injury caused by a bullet, with at least four fragments discovered embedded in his brain, a postmortem on his body showed. Government pathologist Dr Peter Ndegwa made the revelations of the autopsy Thursday after conducting the exercise on the body of Kariuki at the Kenyatta National Hospital Funeral Home. “We concluded that he died due to a severe head injury. Tanzania’s Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has announced that he will not seek re-election in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, effectively preventing him from being re-appointed. A group of mourners stormed and burnt down a section of a police station where teacher Albert Ojwang was briefly held before he was moved to Nairobi for further processing.
