President Donald Trump has defended Elon Musk’s drive to shut down sections of the US government amid legal challenges, transparency concerns and questions over conflicts of interest. “He’s not gaining anything. In fact, I wonder how he can devote the time to it,” Trump said Sunday. Democrats have accused Musk of personally benefiting from some of the changes that the Trump administration is trying to push through, such as the proposed closure of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). Trump said Musk’s unofficial Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) would soon examine spending in the military and the Department of…

The Kenyatta National Hospital said Sunday they can not tell if the killer of a patient at the facility ward came from outside. KNH Medical Services Director Dr. William Sigilai however said that a probe led by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is underway to establish whether Gilbert Kinyua’s killer breached security or was already in the building before committing the crime. “We don’t have any evidence that someone walked in and committed the said crime. We’ve handed over the matter to DCI,” he told the press on Sunday. Sigilai allayed fears of insecurity at their facility following the…
A resurgence of avian flu, which first struck the United States in 2022, is hitting chicken farms hard, sending egg prices soaring and rattling consumers accustomed to buying this dietary staple for only a few dollars. In Washington and its suburbs, supermarket egg shelves are now often empty, or sparsely stocked. Some stores limit the number of cartons each client may buy. And everywhere, consumers are shocked by the high prices. The situation is much the same in the southern state of Florida. “Eggs are important (and) so nutritious,” said Miami resident Blanche De Jesus, “but you can hardly buy…

What the court did was make comments—what the law terms as ‘obiter dictum’—which are non-binding and have no consequential effect,” Milimo said…
