At least six suspected al Shabaab terrorists were Sunday September 22 killed in an ambush in Sarira area, Garissa County.  Police said about nine others were injured when they clashed with a team of military officers from the Long Range Surveillance (LRS) unit. An explosion caused by a gas leak at a coal mine in eastern Iran has killed at least 51 people, state media said on Sunday. More than 20 others were injured after the blast in South Khorasan province. It is reported to have been caused by a methane gas explosion in two blocks of the mine in Tabas, 540 km (335 miles) southeast of the capital Tehran. The explosion occurred at 21:00 local time (17:30 GMT) on Saturday, state media said. At least four people were killed Saturday night and dozens injured in a mass shooting in Birmingham, Alabama, police say. “Multiple shooters fired multiple shots on a group of people” late on Saturday in the Five Points South area of the city, Birmingham police officer Truman Fitzgerald said. Police found the bodies of two men and one woman at the scene and a fourth victim died of bullet wounds in hospital, he said. The Association of Pentecostal Churches and Training Institutes Saturday rejected the Senate Bill on religious organisations. The Bill was crafted following recommendations from a presidential task force. The rejection comes a day after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua joined the debate and called for freedom of worship and religious organizations. Gachagua who seemed to support the churches said the institutions should be left to regulate themselves. An artificial-intelligence advisory body at the United Nations on Thursday released its final report proposing seven recommendations to address AI-related risks and gaps in governance. The U.N. last year created a 39-member advisory body to address issues in the international governance of AI. The recommendations will be discussed during a U.N. summit held in September.
