Police are investigating an incident a five-day baby was found abandoned at a bus stop near Kenyatta National Hospital, Nairobi. The baby was found crying for attention by two pedestrians who alerted police. The baby boy seemed to have been at the scene for hours before he was discovered Sunday evening. Far-right libertarian outsider Javier Milei won Argentina’s presidential run-off poll, according to provisional results. Mr Milei’s rival, economy minister Sergio Massa, called him to concede. Former US President Donald Trump congratulated Mr Milei on his victory, saying he would “Make Argentina Great Again!”. The election comes at a difficult time for Argentina with rising inflation and an economy in crisis on peoples’ minds. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Thursday obtained orders to freeze assets valued at about Sh28.9 million belonging to former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.  This is in regard to ongoing investigation over his alleged involvement in a Sh1.3 billion graft probe. The anti-graft body was given the asset freeze nod by the High Court on Thursday, pending the completion of ongoing investigations. National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula has called for the lifting of the sanctions imposed on South Sudan by international bodies, terming the move as unjustified. The sanctions by the United Nations Security Council include assets freezes, travel bans and arms embargo. Police are holding a suspect who had five plastic pellets and one round of 9mm in Mukaa area, Makueni county. The suspect was arrested at a police roadblock in an operation on Saturday November 18 and an imitated firearm with a magazine of the five plastic pellets and one round of 9mm found on him. The Kenya Air Force (KAF) joined in efforts to distribute food to those affected by floods in parts of Wajir County. The personnel joined the Kenya Red Cross and Wajir County government participated in a food distribution exercise. Most parts of northern Kenya have been badly affected by the floods due to heavy rains. They have been cut from other parts of the country. George Brown, a drummer and songwriter who co-founded the band Kool & the Gang, died on Thursday. He was 74. The news was confirmed to CNN via email from Kool & the Gang’s publicist Jerry Digney. Brown died in Los Angeles after a battle with cancer, according to Digney. DCI detectives have arrested the mastermind behind the Sh439 trillion fraud scheme targeting two Dutch nationals. Isaiah Aluodo Belek, who was found in Gigiri, is said to have drafted communications with the two foreigners, alongside eight other suspects who were arrested on Wednesday at a warehouse on Mombasa Road. The eight are; Moses Otieno, Peter Aura, Brian Waweru, John Kalombo, Peter Kisanya, Noah Ouma, Charity Njeri and Mercy Cheptoo. The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has postponed its grassroots elections following a meeting held by the party’s National Steering Committee. In a statement, party Secretary-General Cleophas Malala said the elections have been moved from December 9, 2023 to April 12, 19 and 26. Two Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) officers are feared dead after a car they were traveling in was swept away by floods at Ramisi area in Kwale. The driver and a senior staff were heading to Mombasa from Lunga-Lunga on Friday evening when the tragedy struck.
