An activist has sued the Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) over their decision to enforce regulations and licensing fees on videos posted by creatives and content creators on social media. In the application lodged at the Milimani High Court, Fredrick Bikeri wants the court to suspend the demand letters dated May 22, 2024 served on all creatives and influencers. He argues that the demand letters served seek to enforce orders that are unconstitutional, unfair and unjust. A police officer who was assaulted by a a 19 year old university student wants the suspect to be detained until he testifies in the case in court.  Corporal Jacob Ogendo asked the court to detain Ian Njoroge who has been charged with robbery with violence and causing bodily harm. A security guard has accused the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) of poor maintenance and lack of accountability of their cables and wiring following a severe electrocution incident. Nelson Wamboka Nangala who also doubles as a general cleaner says the electrocution by the electric cables and the injuries he sustained are a direct result of Kenya power’s negligence, reckless and reliable conduct. A 19-year-old student who allegedly assaulted a police officer along Kamiti Road, Nairobi and robbed him a communication gadget will remain in custody until June 5 pending formal application from the prosecution denying him bail.  Ian Njoroge on Tuesday appeared before Milimani Principal magistrate Ben Mark Ekhubi and denied three counts. A driver who was caught on video assaulting a police officer during a traffic stop in Mirema area, Kasarani was presented for arraignment at the Milimani law courts. His lawyer Duncan Okatch said Ian Njoroge will be charged with robbery with violence, assault causing grievous bodily harm and resisting arrest. A group of traders operating in Gikomba traders in Nairobi have sued over the demolition of their structures by the county government. The chairman of Gikomba Open air market traders John Kimani together with 11 traders whose stalls are marked for demolition moved to court challenging the demolitions.
