A 37-year-old man died on Wednesday in Busia shortly after winning a chang’aa-drinking competition. Michael Ouma, who hails from Matayos area, is said to have gulped down three glasses of chang’aa and passed out shortly thereafter. Five police officers have been arrested after they were allegedly busted stealing money from a Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) ATM in Machakos County. A Police report indicates that the officers were arrested after a security guard raised alarm. Upon search, the suspects were found to be in possession of Ksh268,000. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Wednesday morning held a meeting with representatives from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to address Kibra poll preparedness. The Supreme Court of Kenya has dismissed an objection by the National Assembly on its jurisdiction to hear a revenue suit filed by the Council of Governors (COG). In a ruling delivered on Tuesday by Justice Njoki Ndung’u the court ruled that it has a jurisdiction to hear the matter. A Kenyan woman was last week arrested in Delhi, India, over drug trafficking links. According to Indian media reports the woman, Mariam Mweke, had been on police watchlist for seven months.
