The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has promised to review its infrastructure in all wildlife parks across the country as part of efforts to promote safety of wild animals. The company swang into action on Monday after three Rothschild giraffes were electrocuted at Soysambu Conservancy in Nakuru County over the weekend. Six more patients have succumbed to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, raising Kenya’s fatalities to 1,823, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday. At the same time, 208 more people have tested positive for the virus out of a sample size of 3,415. A Form Four student at Kaputir Mixed Secondary School in Turkana South died on Saturday after allegedly drinking a hand sanitiser. Five other students reportedly became visually impaired after drinking the liquid applied to the hands for the purpose of removing common pathogens (disease-causing organisms). Relentless search efforts for missing 38-year-old businesswoman Caroline Wanjiku Maina ended on Friday with the discovery of her body at Kajiado hospital mortuary.
